Umm... I'm kinda new at using tampons and it's really uncomfortable for me but I do a lot of sports and I don't like to be held down by a pad...
One question: Is it painful to use it? I mean like... does it have anything to do with virginity?

Actually, it depends on the person. You'll have to try it to find out if tampons are for you or not. I could never use them myself. They make me feel really dry and my cervix is tilted so they don't go in at the correct angle and feel like they are right at the edge all the time. I only use them when I have to for swimming.

Make sure you are really relaxed when you try it. Being a virgin has nothing to do with being able to use a tampon. Some women are born with hymens already opened up. Most have them partially opened (so your period can pass through). A very very very rare few have the hymen covering the entire opening. But that is very rare.

If they feel dry, try a little ky on the tip to help it slide better.

The best way to know is to give it a try! Good luck!

If you are 'already using tampons' and you have any 'pain' it is probably because you are 'inserting it' incorrectly ... READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THAT TYPE/BRAND and learn about the different 'sizes' and 'shapes' ...
Even a 'virgin' CAN use a tampon, since 'virginity' is about 'having sex' and not about the 'shape' of a females body parts ... but some girls have an 'intact hymen' with very little 'opening' so inserting a tampon for the first time may be 'incredibly painful.' There are 'ways' you can stretch or 'break' your hymen, but you MUST TALK TO AN OB/GYN before you 'try' that.
Frankly, I'm 'way past using pads or tampons' (I'm 56, and an 'official crone' now!) but there are two things I want you to 'think about' before you 'decide' that you want to use 'tampons' because you find using 'pads' awkward during 'sports' ...
First, I have used both, and occasionally used both AT THE SAME TIME ... particularly when involved in 'sports' to the point that sometimes the 'tampon' would leak and I needed a 'pad' to 'collect the leaked blood' before it 'showed' on my pants. MOST WOMEN WHO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVE SPORTS use 'both' for the same reason I did. It's just neater all around.
Second ... although it is 'rare' now, but there is still a 'chance' that you can get a 'fatal infection' from using TAMPONS ... if you are 'flowing lightly' but don't want to 'leak' so you use one that is 'way too absorbent' you are far more likely to 'get' this infection, and you can actually 'die from it' before you even 'feel ill enough to go to a doctor.' LOOK AT YOUR PALMS. If you have any 'red marks' on the padding under your 'little finger' that are not 'always there' (they are either a deep red 'blush' or look like you can 'see' every tiny vein') GO TO A DOCTOR FOR TESTING IMMEDIATELY. I 'stopped using tampons EVER' when that 'infection' first became 'publicized' because my son (who was then 6 years old) made me PROMISE TO NEVER USE TAMPONS AGAIN. That was many years ago, and I still 'totally disapprove' of tampons ... but many years have gone by, and 'technology' has changed, so many 'tampons' are made differently to AVOID the chance of getting that infection ... but it still 'happens occasionally' when a person uses 'the wrong tampon' for 'extra safety' ... so BE CAREFUL. And if you do decide you 'need a pad' along with your 'tampon' ... those are also available in every size, shape, weight, and thickness ... and you can be SURE that there is at least one out there that you will be able to 'wear comfortably' for EVERY SPORT with the 'exception' of swimming ... and for that, you should 'use a light tampon' but just 'get dressed quickly' when you get out of the water and you will be 'just fine' because women actually 'stop menstruating' when they are 'immersed' in water. FACT. Weird, but true.

It definitely makes a difference if you are a virgin or not. Being a virgin, you have a hymen that will make inserting a tampon a little more difficult. You may try some k-y jelly (over the counter drug store) on the tip of it before you try inserting. I would suggest using tampons with plastic inserters as they go in more smoothly rather than cardboard applicators. You won't know until you try, and tampons are not necessarily going to last you for a full day. If you only trickle a bit, it will hold for a few hours, but it you have a heavy flow, you'll have to change it often. Only you know which days are heavier and lighter. Don't worry, it's not really scary.

If you use it right, it won't be painful and you shouldn't be able to feel it. There should be instructions in or on the box that tell you how to use it. Tampons have nothing to do with your virginity. When you're using a tampon, make sure you don't leave it in for more than 7 hours. If your period is pretty heavy it might be safer to wear an ultra thin pad while you're wearing a tampon too.

This might sound strange coming from a guy but I once dated a virgin who used tampons instead of pads. She used to use a smaller size but after she had sex for the first time, she had to increase the size of the tampon (apparently the come in different sizes). So basically what I'm saying is don't worry about it... it won't hurt and doesn't affect anything concerning virginity. Plus the tampon industry also took girls like you into consideration, making a smaller tampon size so it doesn't hurt or fall out or whatever i dunno haha.

Obviously you are very young and I believe there is a tampon called "slim" for young women. Personally, I made it through perfectly fine just wearing a regular pad all through high school, including during sports. The point is, you are a female (not a boy) and there are times when you need to sit it out so to speak. My advice, come on now, chuck the tampons and go back to pads.

If you get the right brand and insert it correctly, you shouldn't feel it at all. Personally, I like Playtex with the plastic applicator. It will take some practice, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. And no, using a tampon has nothing to do with your virginity. The only way you can lose your virginity is to have intercourse.

No it is not painful to use and your hymen has the hole in it that lets the menstrual blood flow out and a tampon go in. The don't hurt and you don't feel them once they are in if you did it right. You need to angle the tampon towards the small of your back. Just relax, look at the picture in the box and it will work out fine.

There is a company that sells Mooncups. It collects menstrual fluid and can be used again (after washing). It's an alternative to using a tampon, which can sometimes be painful to use for those of us who have never used a tampon before. Look at www.mooncup.co.uk for further information. regarding the virginity issue, we all have to ovulate at regualr intervals. So don't worry about that, we need to discharge and the discharge is natural. If you have any worries about discharged blood, please speak to your health official.

I hope everything goes well for you.

Nope! It MAY be painful if you are tense, but otherwise, it's no biggie. Just make sure it's inserted all the way, or else it will be VERY uncomfortable. You'll know it's in there proper if you can walk without feeling it.
It has absolutely nothing to do with virginity.
