Speaking in what seems to be nonsensical metaphors is a sign of schizophrenic personality disorder. Some people do not view the world the same way the average person does. Therefore, the average person is not going to instantly understand someone who sees life in a different light.

How else are we to identify things. Most metaphors have to be taken in context. Meaning a black box is just that until you read the rest of the story then a black box is well.. you’ll have to read the story to find out. There are archetypical metaphors things like a river standing for a journey or green standing for life and growth. And then there are cultural metaphors meaning you have to be in the know, to know, you know? No? Hidden all out in the open like right under their nose, underground if you will.
