last night i asked a question. the responses i got were just mean spirited and hateful. i emailed this one person on his comment his online name is floatpool any who he verbally harassed me by hating on my children calling them name's that i never heard any adult call children before.

has anyone else ever been hated on so badley liker that on yahoo answer's? please tell. and has anyone ever gotten a stalker on here? what should i do in case this person become's a problem?

i was told that i need to have thick skin when asking a question cus there alot of wacko's out there. i will take that advice. however i do not believe in ignoring one to get rid of the problem. if somehow is rude hurtful, viciously unkind they need to be called on that.

i would appriciate any comment's on my question and statement thank's.

You should have never written the guy, in doing so you are opening the door for him to say things like that to you....Think before you write someone...also you were the one harassing him if you sent the first e-mail!

Hated on? Alrighty. Anyway, you made the mistake by getting upset and emailing the guy. You shouldnt have done that. Yes, Ive had people get pissed at me before, which is why I changed my profile to not allow IM's or emails. You should do the same. There are still a few things they can do, but taking that step will help you out. And just realize when you post a question that you will get a few like that, report them if needed, and move on.

Yes, I have. I asked a question wanting to hear from older people about their good times they had as children. I got responses telling me their life stories about how miserable they had it and even down to being molested as kids. Two or three of them jumped me for trying to re-phrase the question. I have noticed that a lot of these are imposter's. If you look at their profile they say they are disabled and homeless, then, after reading QA down the road they have it made in the shade. I don't understand it, but, I never reply to their questions. There is also a group that vote for each others questions. This is so immature!

Actually, when it comes to people who spout filth just to get a rise out of you... ignoring it really is the best method. As long as they think you care, they'll just keep going at it.

You've got to consider the source when it comes to what people say. If they are just showing that they're an idiot then you shouldn't even consider what they say. Would you believe a bum on the street if he told you the secret to becoming rich? I sure hope not. Maybe if the secret makes sense you should explore it. But don't just up and believe it. Just consider the source when it comes to certain things.

There are two things you can do. The first is that you report him as he is not in compliance with the community standards rules. Let the committee take further action against him.
Alternatively is that you choose to ignore him. As this is open to everybody who have an account, so you should actually expect such things to happened wen you start asking question.

Seriously

You go online to an open forum and ask a question. You get varied responses. Some of a rude/mean nature. Now your asking what should you do about responses you deemed wrong or bad?

STOP POSTING IN AN OPEN FORUM.

This is the WORLD WIDE WEB. You not only get the street crazy people here... Anyone with an IP address can chime in,

Jesus H Christ, Let it go!

Some people are one here b/c they live in their mother's basement and have no lives.
Those are the people that give you answers that make no sense or answers that are really rude.

Sometimes you get a smartass you thinks it is funny to put down people just because its the internet.

The person who was quite rude to you is probably in the category of the first person described. I would just ignore him/her and if they become a problem, report them.

Ignore it, ignore it, ignore it. Will the comment of a stranger matter 2 years, better yet, 2 months from now? Nope. There are ignorant, childish, and hateful people on yahoo answers. Ya just gotta deal with them sometimes. It does suck that they ruin the fun for the rest of us, but only if you let them.

I have had problems, but not to that extent. My latest stalker went and reported everything they could find on me (they were not violations, but Y! never checks that). I just asked a question asking for people to guess how many pennies my son has in Polls & Surveys. I received two comments about just having one penis and one who cares. Go figure.

I wouldn't mind seeing the question you asked to get a better picture of what it is you are talking about. Could you e-mail it or post it here? I just want to see what was asked to cause such a stir.

Thanks.
