I had a dream last night that I could see lines drawn on a paper. They were vertical and at some angles and I was confused looking at it. Then, I heard a voice say to me "my name is AVIN" at the same time I was watching the lines change to form the capital letters of avin. That was the end of my dream! I didn't know what this means so I googled AVIN and found your question! It's weird, isn't it?

I checked on Ancestry.com (I do genealogy as a hobby), and they don't have a meaning for the name as a surname, unfortunately. However, they do have points of origin, which include Sweden, Austria, Russia, and the UK.
I'm also Jewish, and speak some Hebrew, Ladino, and Yiddish. The poster above does have the Hebrew meaning - Avah or Abba means "father" (the difference in Hebrew between the "v" and the "b" sound is a bit blurred, as with Spanish); the plural would be "avot".
