I can never be lost in this world because wherever I go, there I am.

I can never make a bad decision, I can only decide things based on the information I have at the time.

Nothing in this world can MAKE me angry but some things I CHOOSE to be angry about

It is better to regret what you have done, then to regret not having done anything. Once the opportunity passes, you may never get the chance again.
~Me~ I'm sure I heard it some where though. It's how I live my life.

from my mother
"God helps those that help themselves"

I understand this to mean it's no good praying and expecting God to do something when you are unwilling to do it yourself.

From an old lady in her 80's

"The past has come and gone and the future hasn't happened. Don't hold on to the past or live for the future."

"You have to spit to see the shine"
-I'm not certain but I always assumed that it was a reference to the unpleasant things one must to do to achieve more preferable results.
"Once bitten, twice shy"
"The devil finds work for idle hands"
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely"
"wisest is he who knows he knows nothing"
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness"

Also-this isn't an adage exactly but it was a really good retort from Voltaire when told that "life is hard" he responded with "Compared to what?" It's quite funny to see the look on people faces when they you use that on them.

My favorite saying is rather long, so to save time I'll just supply the words. You'll have to add the punctuation yourself:

that that is is that that is not is not that that is is not that that is not that that is not is not that that is that is that is that not that is

Ones I say often (depends on the situation.) They're not all "inspirational", most are meant to be funny, sarcastic.

"Live and let live." - Common one.

"Keep your temper buddy (or gal)...I don't want it."

"I plead contemporary insanity."

"Hand over the chocolate and no one gets hurt!"

"Every stick has two ends."

"Thou shalt keep thine religion to thyself." - From George Carlin - one of my favs.
