That's a clear sign that he is beginning to lose interest in his mistress. Either it hasn't been up to his expectations. Or he's lost that enthusiasm he had in the first place.

Most often, just that initial thrill and excitement in "getting inside your pants" just begins to die off once he's actually gotten there .... if you know what I mean.

The last thing the mistress ought to be doing is to go after him at this point. Just let him go. He won't realize how good you are until he's gone back.

Because most men actually do love their wives. The majority of flings are just that, flings. A chemical attraction that fills some void, temporarily and then goes away. The flings usually make them remember just how much they do want to keep things "normal" for their lives though, and how changing women doesn't really mean changing the situation.

Affairs also reveal, with stark clarity, just how horrible dating can be, and what a person has to lose by leaving their spouse.

This works both ways, I might add. Women cheat and then stay with their husbands too, often for the very same reasons.

In a lot of cases, a man isn't unfaithful because he does not love his wife. We are sex-driven. Some men are weaker than others. Yes, that may be a shabby excuse, but it doesn't make it any less true. Sometimes the man is frustrated because his wife isn't interested in sex as much as she used to be; sometimes it's the thrill of "the hunt." No matter the cause of the infidelity, the fact still remains that most unfaithful men love their wives. And we want to be with who we love, just like women do.

It never was a sudden decision and leaving his wife was never part of the plan. Men tend to like to stray and see what else is out there. They want to know they're still attractive to the opposite sex and a relationship outside of their marriage is exciting and stimulating. Still at the end of the day, most men will go back to their wives, especially if there are children involved.

He doesn't want to go through a messy divorce, especially if there are children involved.

he's committed to his wife, he's using the mistress for sex. HUGE difference!

obviously he's not being a good husband but that doesn't mean he doesn't love her or still want to be with her

They go back because they love their wife and never realy care for the other lady. The other lady is a lot of the time just for fun no matter what the guy says. And some guys have a lot to lose in a divorce.

This question is a bit bizarre to me because it seems to presuppose that sex cannot be a goal in and of itself. Your question seems to be based upon the questionable assumption that the reason a man cheats is in order to find a relationship replacement for his wife. While I'm sure this is occasionally true, it seems to me that the far more common reason a man cheats on his wife is in order to have sex with the other woman. In these cases, while still, of course, immoral, it makes logical sense that after obtaining his goal he would go back to his wife.

maybe he realized that he still loved his wife and did not love his mistress as much as he thought at first. they have a fling because there are problems in the marriage, he may have gotten bored and wanted something strange, but has decided against divorce for whatever reason. guess theres no place like home.

Why does he want to go back? Simple! He found out the grass was not greener on the other side of the fence. How does he tell the mistress? Simple! Goodbye, I am going back to my wife.. The mistress got what she deserved by shacking up with a married man. He will be lucky if his wife takes him back.
