I find the ad for "the onion" on the myspace.com homepage with Bush incredibly offensive. No matter if you agree with him or not this is UNCALLED FOR! Aren't there laws against stuff like this?

Are there laws against offending you, specifically? Not in this country there aren't. Either butch up, or buy an island where you can establish your own dictatorship.

Can you show me the link I would like to offer my opinion.
I suppose if you want freedom of the press and free speech then people are going to say things you may or may not agree with as long as it isn't offensive or deffermation of character then you can pretty much say what you want whether you agree or not. Now I am going to find that article.

You take The Onion seriously? Lighten up. It is a tongue in cheek spoof of news events. It isn't intended to be serious. It is like a high tech version of Mad Magazine.

Yes. The first amendment applies. It prevents passing laws to limit free speech. Time for a great big swallow of get over it.

No, thats what we're fighting for.....freedom.....in all its shapes and forms. Freedom of speech is a huge one. Surpress one idea and it can create a much bigger problem such as imprisonment for beliefs not in line with the government...Iran.

It's called sedition. It is no longer illegal. It was at one time.

It's still contemptible, whether aimed at President Clinton or President Bush.

It is free speech. So is saying swear words repeatedly in a crowd of kids.

That doesn't mean you can't answer it.

You have free speech as well.

Sometimes those who practice sedition are suddenly surprised and upset when they are answered by patriotic Americans (sedition is not, by definition, patriotic).

Go for it.

No, the liberals saw to it that you can say anything you want against anyone you want unless it causes you hardship and loss of money. They are all about making money and keeping it.

welcome to america. freedom of speech actually happens to be one of our major rights here. love it or leave it, right?

i actually found it really funny... and i honestly think he would too. the man has an uncanny ability to laugh at himself. i might not like him, but that's something that comes in handy a lot with him... what with being the decider and all.
