It depends. The 90s was better, but the 80s sucked!

Not much great music is made anymore these days. Artists are more concerned about being "the bomb" rather than producing decent music. And why is it that they are paid such an ungodly amount of money for putting out this crap? The real musicians (you know the ones that actually know how to use a musical instrument) didn't make squat comparatively back in the day.

what happened is that the manistream started to suck these past few years. If you look at the underground now, you can still find some pretty good music...like Ted Leo
but major labels started shaping all those bands like FOB and MCR with cookie cutters...and that's why they all sound the same
it used to be about the music, until mtv and the media got into it...now it's a fashion show

I am with you on that. All the music today sucks! I only listen to the older stuff. Everyone sounds the same,acts the same and looks the same. It isn't original anymore. There are few bands that I can stand but I still listen to classic rock music.

To me Music has went to "hell" in he past 10 years. I am
country and I see people who dont know what country sounds
like on the grand ole opry. All of the new "singers" think they
are song writers and most cant spell their own names.
Maybe I am getting too old. 76 isnt old is it?????

No it's not just you. Some stuff is good, but the stuff from back then has WAY more meaning.
And that's coming from a teenager.
