I was watching comedy central last night and it inspired me. I just can't seem to write a lot of jokes. Can you think of any?

When you say kid comedian I take it you mean your like eleven or twelve. That's a pretty hard age to try and break into comedy. Take things slow right now and just try and see what is funny around you. Just try to see if you can make your friends laugh. You've got plenty of time to try and make it in show biz. For right now just consider everything that happens to you as potential material.

Yes, being funny is though but nothing is more rewarding than making people forget their troubles with laughter! May I suggest trying new experiences and riffing on that (take dance lessions if you can't dance, for example) or parody something in popular culture ("Weird Al" Yanovich made a career out of song parodies, for example). Study the styles of comedians by borrowing their recordings from the library (Ever listen to Albert Brooks or Bill Cosby?).

Life should be your main source. Tell a funny story. Twist it around if needed. The audience thinks its more funny if you dont, so try not to laugh. Current Events are a good source too.
