OK, My step brother turned 21 last week and went to get alchohal yesterday with his license (sorry cant spell) his licesnce still says under 21 but he is not... we went to 3 stores that would not distribute alchohal to him because it says under 21.. is this un lawful?

A store can refuse service for any reason. They are not obligated to sell particularly in instances where they could face criminal charges. maybe he should just get his license updated instead of whining.

no it is legal...i work at a store that sells alcohol..and the law states that even if the person is of age, if there license has the under 21 on it you cannot sell them any alcohol...he needs to go in and have his license changed..

No, It's completely legal. He needs to get his license renewed. As with any store whether or not a sign is posted they have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Maryland has a profie pic license under 21...if NY does this,he needs to get a face pic license...alcohol sellers are trained not to accept profile ID,or they can be fined...
