I have a gateway 17 inch glossy lcd which is cracked. this thing is only 6 weeks old.my x got here hands on it! Well any way does anyone know were i could find one?maybe used ?i dont feel like payin $300.and also any guidance on instaling this thing myself?

If it's only 6 weeks old, it should be covered under warranty. Call Gateway and get a new screen sent to you, or you can send it to them and they will replace it for you. It should be free.

Most laptop screens cost nearly as much to replace as just buying a new computer.
If it is only 6 weeks old, you might attempt to return it from where you bought it for a replacement. Don't tell them what happened - just claim 'it stopped working'.
If you sent in your warranty card, you might be able to get a warranty repair - though it might depend on what the damage looks like, and how good you are at making up crazy *** stories.
They are fairly easy to install, and you can probably find one on e-bay or someplace, but you will end up spending a couple bucks, and if it is used, you never know what you are getting, and unless you know what you are doing, you can easily mess one up if you aren't careful installing it - if you take your time, and look online for some step by step directions, you can probably pull it off.
