i've always used the dollar general brand and they have worked for me. I took one this morning and checked it about ten minutes later, it was negative. when i looked at it again about three hours later there is a second thin, pink line. i could'nt have mised it before because it is pretty dark, not faint. could it be an evaporation line even though it is pink??

That can happen after a long time. That is why they say to check it after only a few minutes...that is when it is most accurate. If it said you were not pregnant after ten minutes and then hours later it indicated that you were, then you are most likely not pregnant.

yes it sounds like an evaporation line- you are NOT supposed to read the test after it's alotted time for this exact reason. if you think that you are pregnant then by all means go buy an early pregnancy test or wait a few more days and take another test. but don't rely on the one you took a few hours ago.

I'd get another test. That happened to me and I am pregnant. The line on my test was faint after 1 hour, and very very dark later in the day. I know, you can't trust it, but mine was right after all.

most likely it was evaporation line. the results would have showed 2 lines way before a couple hrs later if u were pregnant

yeap it was the evporation line, sorry, that is why in the directions they say DO NOT read the results after a few min.
you should of read all the instructions first. and evporation lines are always light.
my positive tests turned neg in about 10 min.

Just curious but are you late and if so how many days? I know it sounds obvious but it is kinda of weird that the line is so dark that you couldn't miss it. Hmm....I would try a more reliable test maybe and check it out. Let us know if you try another one!

Pregnancy tests are only accurate for the first few minutes. Read the paperwork that came inside the box. It will tell you how long is too long for an accurate answer.

The test results are only good the first ten mintune. I suggest thatou wait a few days and take a new test.

You are not supposed to read it after about 10 mins. Get a brand name test and try that. And dont read it again after 10 mins...
