i get up on the bus for old people and pregnant women! and i always return wallets or purses i find or phones in nightclubs or anywhere else!(i no it don't sound like much but Ive lost phones and money loads of times and never got it back!:( ) the nicest thing i have done is ... i thort i saw someone lieing at the bottom of a bridge once , so i went over to check, he had jumped/fallen of the bridge and was drunk in an old part of town there was no one else around he looked in a really bad way. i rang an ambulance for him and stayed until it came! that's more of chance that i was there so i don't no if that counts! the nicest thing a stranger has done for me is donate blood. i don't even no who they were but without there donation i would have died after child birth! but ... when my son is one i am aloud to go on the bone marrow register and donate blood myself! so that will be the nicest thing Ive done for a stranger! who knows... maybe one day my blood will save the life of whoever saved mine! what about you?xx

Searching my memories.....
This has been a hard couple of questions to think about, and the result may not seem impressive.
The kindest thing a stranger has done for me:-
When a boy was verbally abusing me, a man , a stranger to me tackled the boy without violence in defence of me. That meant a lot to me, but only because I enjoy life, and if the average stranger wasn't nice to me, I couldn't enjoy life so much.
Taking away the man who gallantly came to my defence, would mean that one youth might shout more abuse at me some more times, but taking away all the strangers who show me respect as they pass me in the streets, taking away the 'Hello' from strangers, and other pleasantries, would make me far less happy with myself, and with society.
So the kindest thing strangers have done for me is simply accepting me and being nice to be, and most strangers do this for me.
The kindest thing I have ever done for a stranger.
Sitting with a stranger because they are lonely once, is a nice thing to do, doing it twice, or time after time is kinder, but after only a couple of times, you know a lot about each other and become friends. This is the biggest problem I have had with this question, you do something kind for someone, or they do it for you, and often it results in friendship, one could say making friends with a stranger or a stranger making friend with oneself could be the kindest thing, but as they become friends it is disallowed by the question.
The kindest thing I have done is pay a regular £15 to Action Aid, because even when you 'sponsor a child' the money goes to the community, and gives them some of the basic things we take for granted, like education on how to get clean water, and the equiptment needed, relevent eduction for children and adults. It is actually easier for me to give £15 a month, than it was sitting with a lonely man who liked to watch football, but the kindest of the two is the £15 because it helps people who I will never know, and who will never know me.
After a sponsored child has grown up, they asked me to continue paying in support of what they call the next step, this gives help to some of the poorest of the poor.

Walked about two miles out of his way to actually show me where the train station was, rather than trying to explain it.
I wouldn't want to judge my own kindness ratings but I certainly learned a lesson from that nice man and have done similar stuff myself many times.

A complete stranger darted from a tiny trailer [way out in the distant surrounding desert] and fixed my flat tire. I had been driving through this horrific thunderstorm, just outside nowhere, AZ, in 105 degree temperatures, when suddenly my tire blew. This man fixed my tire, refused compensation, and ran back to his trailer. It was like, "Who was that masked man"!

Many years ago I was homeless and shared some bread and cheese with another homeless person. A couple of months later I met him again. He had a flat and a job and took me for a slap up meal.

When I was younger I got lost at Disneyland. The people who work there helped me find my parents. I'm guessing this counts since they were total strangers to me.

Stopped and pulled me out of a car wreck !! Saved some very young children from a mental guy who was chasing them! He chased them right into my yard and I put the kids behind me and started to scream at him to bu**er off !! Thank Goodness he did and I called the cops!!
