I'll eat anything....literally. Pickled okra, frog legs, alligator or whatever. I mean, I wouldn't cockroaches or anything...but as far as normal or semi-normal foods go, I'll eat anything. I was thinking this is sort of odd...usually someone has something they don't like...my uncle, for example, doesn't like Brussels sprouts. Even when I was a kid I liked Brussels sprouts.

I'm thinking that this is because when I was young I went hungry a lot and would have loved anything no matter what it was...I remember once, it had been two days since I got a bite of anything and I walked to the McDonalds just to sort of take in the smell. I watched as one woman picked off most of her bread from her burger...I would have given anything for that bread. Is this the reason I'm not a picky eater?

Please, no rude answers....

I think it's very possible. If you went without food when you were young, you have probably learned to be grateful and appreciate all foods, regardless of how gross other's might think they are.

If a person has known extreme poverty, I suppose it would be normal not to be a picky eater. However, even if you are now in the position to partake of the horn of plenty, you should still discriminate between foods that healthy and those that are harmful. Eating strange things can't make up now for what you didn't have growing up. The past is past, and the present is now. If you have access to good foods, make those your priority choices.
