ummm yeah... porcelain is known for being rather fragile and the porcelian used to make dolls is usually pretty thin. Cheap porcelain dolls are usually more prone to breaking and chipping then the more expensive ones.

If handled with care, they shouldn't break that easily. However, porcelain dolls are not for young children. They are mostly for display. I presently own over 300 porcelain dolls, and my collection has taken over two rooms in my house.
