Oh certainly, The fact that Rupert is Contributing to Hillary's Campaign makes Hillary a Goldstien.
The Fact that the Military requires FOX """"NEWS"""" be tuned on all Televisions in public areas makes it a function of the government.
Amazingly people mistake it for NEWS when FOX Network's own attorneys define it as "Entertainment Programming" just like wrestling. Of course those same people still say that Sadaam had links to Al Quieda and WMDs despite the government stating neither was true.

No, Fox news provides a fair and balanced look at events around the world.
Orwell was worried about a society whose every move was recorded and somewhat planned by a government of some sorts. Fox news actually looks out for people and prevents this from happening by communicating what is going on in the country and the world to the masses. Should any efforts ever be made to move to an Orwelian culture, they would be quashed before they got anywhere because of the great communication resources the masses have at their finger tips.

Orwell was talking about totalitarian governments in his novels where people had no choices. Fox News is a TV Channel and intelligent people can either watch it or not watch it. There may be propaganda, but one can't have their mind controlled if they don't listen to it.

Yes but it goes further than fox alone unfortunately.
"If the Party could thrust its hand into the past and say this or that even, it never happened—that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death."
"Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary."
- George Orwell, 1984, Book 1, Chapter 3 You remeber "Path to 9/11"?

It’s even more insidious than 1984. While people maintain the illusion of media freedom, they can be manipulated with their voluntary cooperation. As you see from some of the comments the term “liberal media” is in common use to describe the corporate mainstream media. Many people tune into Fox News and believe what they see and hear. Propaganda works.

No -- that's common to all politics of any century.
If Fox News were the single official govt station -- that would be what Orwell warned us about.
But as a private outlet, they're free to say or spin whatever they want, and people are free to watch or to ignore them.

NO! The Bush Administration, specifically provisions of the PAtriot Act and the revisions to "FISA." And the manipulation of judicial and congressional oversight coupled with their penchant for operating in secret are what Orwell warned us about.

If your mind is controlled by Fox News, it wasn't much of a mind to begin with....
I think the word "Orwellian" better fits the UN IPCC's attempt to rewrite the climate history. It's warmer than it was 100 years ago, and we may be part of the cause. But it's not warmer than it was 1000 years ago - and the IPCC attempted to re-write the climate history to make it look like it is, so that they would not have to PROVE that we're the cause of today's warming.

nope. Anyone can change the channel. How often do you watch? Total amount of time you've spent watching fox? Just a rough estimate of total hours viewing time?
