Fuzzy logic, for one. Absolutes in knowledge begin to break down into gray areas with the postmodern approach. For example, "When is an apple no longer an apple...but an apple core instead?

In postmodern theory, the answer isn't that clear. We would say that it is getting closer and closer to becomng a core...and less and less an apple. At some point, it does start to firm up as merely a core. This type of thinking is used in computer programing and personnel management theory (to name just a few) these days.

Rather than trying to distill downward to a final conclusion, postmodernism attempts to allow for a myriad of possibilities.
