Send me your e-mail address to busybj1945@yahoo.com and I will attach a scan of that page.

Or, if you don't want the photos:
SUPPLIES:
1 - 1x6 X 4'
1 - 1X8 X 4'
Brass nail-on hinges
Exterior glue
Small nails
Four 1 5/8 in. deck screws

OPTIONS:
1" wood dowel for chimney
Glass beads
Plastic flowers and plants
Bird's nest
Wood plugs for doorknobs

1. Before assembling, set sides against a tree as shown, using a piece of 1X6 as a spacer. Hold the sides as you scribe the contour of your tree, then cut to fit. If the tree flares out too much at the base, use 1X8s for the sides. After scribing, hold one of the sides against the tree and get a rough measurement for the roof length.

2. Eric cut the door from a 1X8, using his gnome as his guide Iinset). Cut the door into Dutch doors, then cut an extra 1/2 inch off the bottom for clearance. Sand and bevel the back edges opposite the hinges so the doors will open. Then attach hinges -- loosely at first, with just one nail per side, until you're sure of fit.

3. Glue and clamp the sides and roof pieces before nailing them together for strength.
After, attach the base to the bottom with four screws, leaving a gap at the rear of the base to avoid the tree trunk. Scribe the roof to the tree. Next comes the fun part . . . painting and decorating!
