Simple, yet traumatic:
It declines, yes, in most cases.
At 50, things might still be working, but with age, the frequency and intensity of erections decline... in some cases men take things like Viagra too soon and too often, increasing impotency.

I am 20 and my partner is 41, (please dont judge, i've never been this happy) and i am thankful everyday (and night) that everything still works in his lower department.

Impotency is often not age-bound, but yes, older men usually suffer from it. Less hard, less often, not reacting when and the way they (and their wives/girlfiends) would like it to.

realy depends on the man, there have been many cases where men remained fertile and erect well into their 70's or 80's.

An erection is brought on by a rush of blood, erectile dysfuntion is the result of blood not rushing to that area anymore. this effect is unrelated to age. A man in his 50's can be as hard as a younger man.

I am 43 and my significant other is 55. He has less semen to ejaculate. He never just has an erection, with all the tricks in my bag, it takes awhile to get it going.
He can only ejaculate in the missionary position with my knees behind my ears almost.
He has the opinoin the sex between us is great, but its not. If I didnt like him so much, I would forget it.

I'm not there, yet, but I believe the erections are still the same. It just takes more stimulation (visual and physical) to get there.
