Yeah, I rather depend on them in stories, theatre, music and art, to sort of help me cope. I remember "Kiss of the Spider Woman" being the first movie I ever saw with a rotten horrible ending, and how pissed off it made me, to become so invested in that movie character, all for naught..therefore..
things like "Princess Bride" and "Hudsucker Proxy" much more up my alley. I believe the influence of these media experiences translates into real life. We humans are so much more impressionable than we let on.
"Brazil" is the only movie that I eventually forgave for it's tradgic ending, but I remember how miserable and paranoid I was for two weeks after seeing it the first time.
Yeah, it's only a movie, I've heard that plenty, but your brain is "only the most sophisticated kind of computer
technology can't ever hope to compete with," and depending on what we let in....we are being programmed, man. That's why God gave us the mute button for commercial breaks.
You gotta protect your software!

or..the short form...yes I like happy endings.

Not really............
i don't like the end of they lived happily ever after in movies.
sometimes it just gives you the feeling that life can be good sometimes while its not...........also "semi" happy endings give the movie a special meaningful spirit......
if you're talking about real life.....it doesn't really happen
