Only the female drinks blood and she does that for nutrients enabling her to lay her eggs. A mosquito's lifespan is too short to be adversely affected by hepatitis.

Not all misquitoes bite, only the females. They need the blood to reproduce. They fill their bodies with blood, with coats over their egss. They then go lay the eggs. Then they die. So if you think about it, next time a misquito bites you dont get too upset. Shes self-sacrficing herself for her children.
