Many people in other countries speak two or more languages fluently, especially the younger (under 30's). They start teaching foreign languages very early...unlike here in the states where we don't usually start foreign languages until high school.

He speaks two English and Spanish. If you look back in American history very few of our presidents speak more than English. It is a different world in Europe due to boundaries and interactions in the EU. There has been no reason here for many to speak more than one language.

they also live in Europe: a land mass that could fit inside the US almost twice and has multiple nations with multiple languages. most speak English because it is the language of commerce and business. in the entire western hemisphere there are 4 widely spoke languages. one of which is only spoke in one country (portugese in Brazil), and another is limited to one region of another (french in quebec). Bush speaks English and the other most widely used language, Spanish.

They have to. Their direct neighbors may speak 3 or more languages.

Our neighbors learn English. It is the language used in international business. Why learn other languages? To please an ideology? Practically speaking, there's no reason for our President to need to learn more.

More time to spend on more important things to learn.

bush is not intelligent enough to speak his own native language properly, so how do you think he could learn a second language? ha can you imagine how badly he would butcher another language

I didn't realize that answers could be cloned. All the "mouth movers" who can't think of anything more original than "Bush is dumb" seem to have swarmed to this question. It's like a convention of the "I hate capitalism", "stick it to da man" and "gimme the spraypaint" crowd, the kindergarten of intelligent debate. No...kindergarten's too advanced. Daycare is what I should have said.

Listen this isnt Europe thankfully. He isnt the best speaker on the planet. I could deliver a better speech then this president but there is no need to be disrespectful of your president. I could say a ton about slick willy.
