Currently Van Dam has no plans to return to the ring, saying he is on an extended hiatus and is taking time out for family and his comic store, RVD's 5 Star Comics. He has not ruled it out of the question of joining Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Despite popular belief, he will be able to use the name Rob Van Dam, as it is his characterized copyright. In an interview with the BBC he said "I'm not ruling it out of the question, it's where, when and why it's good for me". He also spoke on John Cena and several others in WWE
