I am looking for a fun weekend vacation in/around central new york, or even outlying states. Something fun to do with my dad and my brother before my brother moves to virginia. Any ideas?

Allegheny State Park over by Salamanca. There's a casino over there now and you have all the hiking trails, swimming areas, camp grounds and lakes to enjoy.

watkins glen is soo nice you can hike the gorge lots of neat little shops around the town and there is a marina and a restaurnt that takes you out on a dinner boat cruise
ithaca has great falls also and parks and the commons is a bunch of neat shops and the town is filed with hippies
old forge water safari is not to far north inthe adorandaks
six flags in buffalo
hello NIAGARA FALLS this place is great i love it there casinos tours of the falls maid of the mist these little boats that zip around near the falls fireworks not to mention the canadaian side has so much to offer....you would not be dissapointed going there only 19 to drink in canada also

Lake George or Lake Placid. In Lake Placid you can go down the Olympic bobsled run.
