I would think Sadaharu Oh, but probably someone will come up with some guy that played 37 seasons in the Outer Mongolian National league and hit 1427 home runs.

Sadaharu Oh. he played for well over 20 seasons in the Japanese League, and has over 800 home runs to his credit, making him the record holder for most home runs in a career, bar none.

Ok...Ok...I've had enough of this. No one will ever count Oh's 800-something homeruns as a legitimate record because he played in japan and well no one cares about japanese baseball until they get over here. As much as i hate to say it Barry Bonds will be the new home run king until A-Rod comes along and blows by him. So quit freakin saying that Oh is a better homerun hitter then Bonds because he wasnt and Oh played in some small little league parks...get over it folks...deal with it...the biggest jerk in sports is the new home run king

Josh Gibson hit "reportedly" over 900 HR, although ***** League statistics are sketchy at best, and often times games were played against local barn storming teams. He is still generally regarded as the greatest hitting catcher ever, regardless of leagues
