I don't know if this is good or if you can do this unless it's necessary but are baby isn't due till Dec. 30, but we want to be able to go home for Christmas and visit family, but if it's not due till then we have to stay here and we really want to see are families. So, can you induce labor like Dec. 15 or will doctors not do that and is it okay?

Let things happen naturally. Better all around that way. You are not supposed to fly with a new born anyways.

You can discuss it with your doctor and try to plead your case.

I had a due date of April 8th, but around early March I started getting really uncomfortable and felt pain in my abdomen from the pressure that the baby was putting on my uterus so I begged my doctor to induce. He was reluctant at first, but after checking to make sure that my son would be healthy and it would be safe for him to come out, he agreed.

The most important thing before inducing a labor is to make sure that the baby will be healthy enough to not have any complications when born.

Your due date is the 30th and you want your child to arrive about two weeks before. It doesn't seem to be that big of an issue.

What you can do to try to help you and your child is to live a healthy lifestyle and try to gain the weight that you need to so hopefully that two weeks won't make much of a difference.

I know most people will probably disagree and say that you should wait for your child to continue to develop, etc., but I've been through it, and the bottom line is, if your child has developed normally and is healthy then inducing two weeks early should be no problem.

Good luck.

Your labor will only be induced if you are overdue, have a complication or start having contractions but are not dialating. People nowadays schedule their c-sections. A doctor will probably go the route of scheduling a c-section but not inducing your labor. You can always ask your doctor but I'm sure they wouldn't recommend it. And remember, a due date is just a guess. Only 5% of women actually give birth on their due date, so you may have your baby before or after your due date. Talk to your doctor.

the doctors will not induce you labor unless there is a problem with the baby or your self. why don't you all invite both of your family's with you all this year and maybe they will be there when the baby is born and they would get to see the grandchild, niece or nephew, hope you the best.

My in-laws flew in from Germany when I was due with my son. I ended up being 2 weeks late and my in-laws missed it. My doctors would not induce me. My in-laws didn't see my son until he was 6 months old.

Doctors will not induce until after your due date has passed.
