Animals will be animals; they have needs only different than most people (I suppose their might exist that weirdo out there who likes to chew on rubber hoses)...

Get your dog some more chew toys, and coat the hose with that chili pepper solution. Give that a try.

When the hose is dry, you can use a rubber patch & rubber cement kit like you use on vinyl pools, or some shoe "goop." Just ask at the hardware store.

Your husband should be grateful you let the dog get some exercise. A dog or any other animal needs exercise.

And you have never made a mistake in your life? How young is the dog? Or how old? Give the poor creature a break. I'm sure he's done some good for all of you, i.e. provide some extra security, by barking at strangers and wild creatures. Maybe the dog has given you or your family some company.

You can fix it but if your wanting it to look like nothing happened that one would be tricky.
They sell hose mender at the neighbourhood hardware store, you cut the hose in half and put this piece inside each side then put this other part on the out side and screw it down tight. if it is just a pin hole and the hose doesn't have real high pressure you can buy rubber tape, and get the hose completely dry and start wrapping the tape real tight starting about a inch above the hole and continuing until at least a inch below the hole wrap it around twice this works too.
I hope I answered your question.

Duct tape should fix it. It's water proof and strong tape that will keep it from leaking. Just a side thought...if you keep your dogs toys are out all the time I suggest you put them away and rotate them so your mutt see it as something "new" and "fun" to play with. If you keep your mutt exercised regularly and play with him his chewing destructiveness should go waaay down. Your mutt was just probably bored and when dogs get bored they tend to get destructive. The best toy I ever gave my dogs were "Nyabones" or "Kong" toys since the breed were known as heavy chewers. (I had to give them the ones that were the hardest type to get). Hope this helps!

Chop out the leaky bit and put in a back to back hose connector Hozelock Hose Repair Connector for ½" Hose

You need to give him plenty of chew toys and lot of exercise. Take the mutt to a leash free dog park for 1 hour every day and he'll be much happier.

I would suggest you buy a new hose. You can try to fix with th various repair kit s on the market (not tape) but it's just temporary.

If it's close to the end then just cut it down in size or if it's in the middle cut it in two and then you can get a connector to join them together, tape is ok for a temporary measure but won't last

Buy a splicing kit at your local hardware store. Will contain the hose insert and the clamps needed.

You can get a splice fitting at your local hardware store. You cut the hose at that point, then put the splice in and clamp it tight. Piece of cake. Works like it was never cut.

Go to the pet supply store, and buy something that will taste bad, and spray it on anything you don't want the dog to chew on.

Re-apply periodically (every couple of days), until the dog grows-out of the "chew everything in sight" phase.

duct tape should work to repair it for now. I know some warehouse stores carry a hose repair kit. Or, you can always buy a new one.
