Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario World 1 or 2. They were perhaps the best sidescrolling games ever.

Super Mario World 1 had a cool "choose your own path" type quest. I rememeber the Extra Zone in Star World was the most difficult and enjoying experience of my childhood. Taking on bowser was also very enjoyable. The game took a long time to beat and it was very fun to do. Never got bored.
Super Mario World 2, the sequel, took me the entire Christmas Day 1997 to beat and was cool. The extra games were a cool way to earn extra points to take on beating the entire 8 worlds with 100 points per level. Plus it was a fun way to beat the other kids in the neighborhood.

Donkey Kong Country is a close clone to Mario World but with Donkey and Diddy Kong.

I loved the Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior series.

Zelda - A Link to the Past was a great game. It took quite awhile to beat all the dungeons.

Chrono Trigger which was released for SNES and PS1 had some of the best graphics possible on a SNES.

Well, I was really young, so it's difficult to remember, but I do remember playing the bajesus out of U.N. Squadron and Lethal Enforcers. There was another game I couldn't get enough of that was similar to Lethal Enforcers, but I can't think of it now. And NHL 96 or whatever was hands down the best hockey game on Genesis and probably on any system since.

Oh! How could I forget Mario Kart!? Duh!
Now that I'm older and I've gone back and played some other games again, I really liked Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and Zelda.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors
I loved it!
I remember the water guns you shot the zombies with. It was so fun!
And I wish I hadn't sold my SNES but I did.
