I lost my brother unexpectedly when he was 33. It was like someone had torn a huge chunk out of me. Time healed some of the hurt but not all of it.

My Dad died two years ago. He was suddenly sick, went to the ICU, and a month later he was gone.
I felt numb and had the urge to keep very busy in the few weeks following his death. I really couldn't believe it. But then I started to remember all the good times we shared and be grateful for those memories. Everyone has got to die and I'm glad his illness was relatively short and that he was with his family when he passed.
Give yourself time, and let yourself feel what you feel; the pain will become less over time. I still think of my Dad every day and it's bittersweet, but I am grateful he was my dad and in my life for as long as he was.

Wish people would spell correctly but to answer your question, lost Father, Mother, younger sister, older brother--1st 2 cancer, sister to Hepatitis, brother to a heart attack at age 51 last year.....it does not get easier, some days I wish I could just crawl into a hole and never come out. But I have a strong will and love of the Lord to get me through each day, minute-by-minute.

Yes i have been through alot of that in my life, my dad passed away when i was 8 years old i am now 37, also a twin, i come from a family of 12, 5 brothers and 7 sisters, also there is another set of girl twins, but to get to my point, i also lost 3 of my brothers, my one brother was my best friend, but never knew how much until a bit after his death, he died of cancer at the age of 26, my other brother was 32, he was murdered, and my oldest brother was 45,died of a heart attack, just like my dad, he died at age 42 from heart disease. I am 2nd to the youngest in my family, i miss brothers and my father, all you can do is just keep them close to your heart and remember all the great times you had with them, that's what i do and it makes me feel awhole lot better. My opinion on the moving on stage is ridiculous, yeah you move on but you still think of them often weather you know it or not, and that is a good thing.
God bless.. Hope you feel better!!

Well young lady, I lost my father on january 13, 2007 and it was very hard to celebrate his life because we were so close, he was in a morifeen coma because of the drugs they were giving him, for three days he was in a coma and wouldn't respond to no one, but when I went to the hospital to see him, the nurses told me he wouldn't say anything and he was unresponcive but I told him I loved him and he was a great dad and he turned his head to me so I know he heard me, anyways I did that again at home where he died(he was under hospice care for six years) and I got to say goodby, but,
all you have to do is celebrate that life and watch this movie and or read the book...

I lost my mom ten years ago. It gets easier as the years pass, but I don't think you ever really get over it. You just have to accept the fact that death is a part of life.

I am sorry to hear that. No, I have not lost a parent or siblings. I cannot imagine how you are feeling and dread the day someone that close to me dies.

I lost my uncle, grandfather and grandmother. All were great people, sadly, no one ever gets over it, you just learn to deal with it.
