What do the three different colours signify on a traffic light?

Green. Means you have the right a way, and may move through the intersection with vigilance.
Yellow. means caution. The light is getting ready to change to green, and you should prepare to stop if you can do so safely.
Red. Means Stop. The cross traffic and pedestrians have the right a way.

I have taught my sons that:
Green means go
Yellow means caution
Red means stop

I taught them this because they told Daddy that Mommy only stopped at red lights if she saw a police officer, yellow means hit the gas and go as fast as you possibly can and green means very very fast. They were paying closer attention than I realized.

green= keep driving
yellow= go faster before it turns red
red= stop if there is a camera, a cop,or it's a very busy intersection, if not, slow down but run it anyways
