These laptops are way better for the money:

Laptop prices have became quite reasonable over the last year, and catching a good sale will make it downright cheap.

Looking through the Sunday ads, this is easily the best for the money at $449 (after rebate)

It has:
AMD Dual-core CPU (2 processors in one)
1gb of RAM
DVD / CD burner
80gb hard drive
wireless internet

This one from Office Depot is also a steal at $479 after rebate, with all the same features, just using an Intel CPU instead of the AMD:
http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=630065&Ntt=a135-s4666&uniqueSearchFlag=true&An=text

Honestly, spending $7,8, or even $900 simply gets you a 120gb hard drive 2gb of RAM (with a SLIGHTLY faster clocked CPU).

And as you can see:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=laptop+RAM+install&search=Search
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208300
Upping the 1gb of RAM to 2gb is only $38.

And 80gb's of hard drive space is enough for pretty much everything someone would do on a laptop.

Ok, Hard drive size has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with how fast the laPtop is.

Granted, a full hard drive can hinder data transfer rates. But a computer with a 20 gig hard drive will run just as fast as a computer with a 500gig hard drive, provided all the other components are the same.

As far as whether or not 80gigs is enough, it all depends on what you are going to use it for.

If you plan on storing a lot of Video, Pictures and games on the computer, then it might fill up quickly. But if you are only doing pictures and surfing the net, it should be more than enough.

It's a very basic computer. The size of the hard drive, 80 GB, has no relevance to the speed. It's the rotations per minute (RPM) that determines the speed, which I didn't see listed at a brief glance. 7200rpm is about the best you'll get these day. This computer will be far from speedy, but for $350 for a laptop, you can't really go wrong with it. Depends upon your needs, and your ability to spend.

It would be nice for someone that doesn't have much to do, but someone that has alot to do, might be limited. As the HDD is 80gigs (which should be enough) but it also has Vista, and the vista home that I installed takes up over 20gigs. SO you will have 60 left over.
Also, if the hdd is a 7200 or better RPM drive. It might be worth it there also.

I personally would not buy it due to that it is an Intel and has Vista on it with only 512 ram.

For the price, it is decent. An 80 gig drive for an entry level laptop like that is normal. (The one I use everyday only has a 20 gig - but it is 3 years old). Remember that the two easier things to upgrade in a laptop are the memory and the hard drive. So look at the other specs (that you can't change in the future) first.

80gb sounds good enough, if ur gunna use XP vista try some liek 160 or 250 what ever u want but you should buy an external HD for ur music and docs and pics just incase the HD fails in the notebook, i repaired this guys desktop, he had for a 1yr and the 500gb hitachi sata HD stop working, i had to order him a new one and he lost everything on that HD that failed most of it was pics he never backed up, so u should for sure buy an external, make ur external like 250 or higher, i have a 160 and have 35gb left, lots of music pics and movies on it.

The 80gb HD is not the problem, In my opinion intel celeron processors are crap. But for 350$ I guess it's okay but you should be able to find a laptop with an AMD processor for a comprable price.

Yes it is a decent budget LT at a great price. 80GBs of HD should be more than enough. Reading the user reviews on CC it is about a 2hr. battery life per charge, pretty low.

no your friend is incorrect...the speed of the hard drive relies on its RPM...

whether 80gb is enough or not, only you can answer that...some people tend to download/install more...some less

that laptop is a bare budget computer...if all you're gonna be using it for is web surfing/im/word processing...it will work fine...

yes i too say it will be a good laptop. it might be a bit slow with only 512Mb of memory but you can upgrade that to 1Gb. go ahead and get it.
