it depends how you take the question in my point of view constructive science is one which always put the man in front of it to lead him and destructive science keeps him behind to overrace his developments,culture,civilization and finally ends in the apocalypse eg hiroshima attacked by little boy with his first nuclear arms to clear the human race

Man is science because he is a part of nature so I think science is for man's will to know and man is for science from being a part of it. But to know that science exists for man to know, and science cannot know of man because it takes man's will to know, I think science is for man because he is a part of it. Science is a great way to find our self as it is a way of understanding the world and Universe.
