I figured he was a good guy. I think that when Dumbledore said "Please..." before he died, he was really asking Snape to go through with the plan. I knew Dumbledore had asked Snape to kill him because Hagrid had mentioned to Harry about hearing the two argue one day, and it was revealed in the pensieve that Dumbledore's plan was actually part of the reason why they were. I had no idea that Dumbledore was about to die anyway, but I thought Snape would be an important character to keep alive since he's basically spying on Voldie. Plus, Dumbledore was an incredibly brilliant wizard. I guess JKR was just trying to throw us off with the whole 'wise-men-make-the-biggest-
mistakes' logic.
I wasn't expecting Snape to be in love with Lily. I had heard the theory before and shivered at the thought. But then when the book actually came out and I read it, I thought it was so sweet. It was a tragic love story that made me cry the most when reading the book.

Yeah, when Dumbledore asked Snape for help I was surprised Snape killed him because I thought he was still a good guy. Didn't see the love he had for Lily being a key.

I have skimmed through the book. Truthfully, I never expected Snivellus to turn out to be a good guy after all. However, after reading the Hallows, I see now why Snape looked revolted as he killed Dumbledore. It was not because he hated the Headmaster, but because he loathed to be doing it. The person who authored a fake book I read certainly did not like Snape.

i wasnt surprised. i knew that snape couldnt have just killed dumbledore in cold blood. i knew there was a reason, and i had a feeling dumbledore may have asked snape to do it. that's why dumbledore was pleading and begging snape at the tower (on book 6). i knew that dumbledore had a plan, and an explanation for everything, cause its been a tried and tested j.k. rowling formula since the book one.
i also suspected that snape had feelings for lily potter-and i was right! =)

I was kinda surprised, but I knew there was a reason for Dumbledore always seeing the good in Snape. It was so sad when he died, and Harry went through his memories.

I wasn't surprised when Snape turned out to be good, and I had a hunch that Dumbledore was planning to die, but I just wasn't sure. It's a shame that Snape died, just as Harry found out that he was a goodie, cos they could have become quite close (after all the hatred was forgotten!!).
=D good book though!!!

No, I wasn't surprised, either. I knew Dumbledore was asking Snape to kill him...I figure it was because he didn't want Draco to turn into a murderer, which Draco was trying to do (in a youthful, doubtful way). Which also meant that Snape and Dumbledore worked a little more together, not so very far apart.
The only surprise was that Harry didn't even begin to think Snape responded to Dumbledore saying "Please..." for a different reason than the one Harry got on--that D. was pleading for his life. No, D. said please to Snape to get him to kill him...
Come to think of it, in HP7 I seem to remember Harry saying to somebody that when Dumbledore was killed he was dying anyway, from drinking that icky at the underground lake...
Ah, well.

I was shocked when I found out Snape liked Lily potter. And it was for the best that dumbledore told snape to kill him because then it would appear that snape was still loyal to voldemort and he would still be able to help harry on his journey.

not surprised because Dumbledore is never wrong so if he thought that Snape was good then he is. i would of liked it better if Snape was really bad so Dumbledore could finally be wrong about something.

When i finished the 6th book, i knew snape was going to be good. As i was reading the 7th, I was waiting for something on snape, but they barely mentioned him until the end. So as I was reading, I thought maybe he wasnt good, because they havent really mentioned him. And when the doe patronous came out, i thought it might be lily potter, but it turned out to be snape. That came as a big surprise to me, until i realized that the doe and the stag went together like lily and james.
