Whoa, I wish I had run away to Puerto Rico when *I* was 17! (sounds adventurous and exciting!) You have FIVE children? I am in AWE of you. Unfortunately, my teen years were very unhappy. I guess I could say my favorite memory was ditching school, and going to the beach with my friends and listening to Cheap Trick, and I had the feeling of youth; that the world was still undiscovered, and that I could do ANYTHING! I wish I felt that innocent optimism now. I will say that the happiest year of my life was 1988. I spent my 26th birthday in London (I'm from S. California) and this was a dream trip I had longed for since I was about 14 years old. I will never ever forget it!

Been there, done that..not to Puerto Rico though. The crazy things we have done, and lived through them. I have two sons, and they have turned out blessed.

Being of the same age as Mr Coshworthnut, my memories are very similar to his. Shame how things have changed so much in 15 years.

my old mates, summer school holidays, the days when the old bill just gave you a rollicking, no immigrants, cheap beer, plenty mischief or "harmless fun", smoking funny fags, bunking the train , joyriding a steam roller, oohh the good old days.........
i too worry that my 4 will get up to anything like what i did! it sickens me to think they will do any of the things i remember being fun!! how does that work??
mostly i worry about the frequency of violent assaults and stabbings etc, and that the police will prosecute them for what should have been a clip round the ear

No doubt in my mind my favorite memory as a teen was my first sexual experience at the tender age of 14

My favorite memory would be swimming everyday during the summer. I use to get up early in the AM & lay out in the sun then when I got hot I would jump in the pool until it got dark!!

Getting to go backstage at a Queen concert. Never before or since have I seen anything so normal and yet so weird all at once.

My first concert, I was seventeen. First time I picked up that guitar, I knew that would be what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. That's exactly what I've done.
