Yes, the Yankees are on a tear. By chipping away one game at a time, what once seemed a monumental task of having the ability to get into playoff contention, the Yankees have nicely positioned themselves. Sometimes by losing early on, you gain an advantage. What I mean is, Joe has had to come up with a winning formula, try different things and it seems to be working (finally). The RedSox on the other hand enjoyed early success and now are meeting with some problems that they might not be able to solve or overcome. If nothing else, September should prove to be interesting

No I'm not worried in the least.I was this morning a little, but have calmed down.My take on the Red Sox is this were playing some damn good teams in the Angels and Seattle. Both of these teams have power hitters and great defense. Were not hitting the ball as well as we were when we played say the Orioles a few weeks back.Playing on the West Coast has and always will be a disadvantage for us.We don't play good ball on the West and that's a fact. All we need to do is start winning some games. We had a pretty good thing going the first of August.Losing 1 out of 4 I think. It's been known that the Red Sox falter as the season comes to an end, all I can say is that this year I hope that's not the case.We need to stay healthy, and so far we have been reasonably healthy.
Now for the Yankees, yes they are on a hot streak, but do you really think that will last??The Yankees will fall, they always do.You don't have the pitching, plain and simple, and you have been playing not so good teams, in the Royals, Devil Rays and even the Blue Jays.Wait till you play Cleveland, who have something to prove, winning the WC, they like you will be playing there best ball this weekend.Don't ever count us out Oz, or worry about us, we will prevail. No matter what the Red Sox have had one awesome kick *** season. Were not going down without fighting like crazy.

As a true Red Sox fan, I always hope for the best. I can honestly say, I am nervous. I have been since the season started and I will be until the last day of the season. I never take for granted how well the team is or isnt playing. I have hope for this year since the Sox have such good pitching. I personally have no control over what happens so I won't kill myself (lol) but, I hope for the best. Traditionally the Sox have never played well on the West coast so let's hope that when they get out of there, it will turn around. Starting tonight would be good!

No. The Red Sox have the offense and the bullpen. The Yankees just have the offense. And when you get to the playoffs, you need to have both. That's why the Sox fell apart in the 2003 playoffs. Offensively, the '03 Sox were one of the best teams in the league. The bullpen blew, though. The fixed that in the off-season, and won it all in 2004. Now with the return of Jon Lester, Schilling coming off the DL, and the acquisition of Gagne, the bullpen is back to fighting strength.

maybe but the fact is baseball is a game of streaks. Boston has the best bullpen in baseball and they still have the lead. I would say the preasure is on both the Sox and the Yankees right now. A few screwups by either team could be bad,

The Red Sox are in trouble because as long as the Yankees are within 6 games of the division [5 at the start of today] they can win the head to head match ups to over take them. This sounds like 1978 all over again

I think that as the month continues the Yankees will be playing less than .500 baseball and the Sox will be seeing them in the playoffs. But I am not worried in the least bit
The Yankees should get the wildcard, it wouldnt be fun without them

The Yankees don't stand a chance unless they can score 15 runs in a game after giving up 12. That's not gonna happen in playoffs. I think Boston will pull through this year, they've had a really good season and I think they can hold it til the end but who really knows?

in case you have been to place Beckett's stuff and Daisuke's stuff onto, enable's say, a video game, Daisuke would be an primary extra useful pitcher than Daisuke. despite if, Beckett has shown plenty extra psychological toughness than Daisuke, and that i'd for sure take Beckett over Daisuke in a playoff game any day.
