I'm speaking facts here folks. Not opinions Mr. top contributor. I’m speaking of people spreading bogus claims and outright lies about HR25. If I tell people you make $80000 a year and you really make $50000, that would be false information, not an opinion.

People often make statements based on what they've heard, without doing research. Especially in the area of politics, that is very common behavior.

And some people have done the research, and simply have come to the same conclusion as those Op-Ed pieces.

Just because someone understands the issues doesn't mean they will always come to the same conclusion you did.

People tend to ignore facts, and even some of the answers here obviously ignored the reality of the 'FAIR TAX' concepts...
and are going soley off the word 'TAX'..

Not relizing that the only way to make sure rich always pay more than others is consumption related taxation.

Btw, thats FAIR TAX....

Consumption taxing is heavy on the rich because they are the largest consumer of new product (ie; the poor rarely buy new product (except food)).

Its not a solution to the problem . Thats why . The way it works now all the money goes to washington and then our elected officials work hard to steer as much as possible back to us .
This is based in large part not on how much your state contributed but on how many electoral votes your state can promise to the next leader . Thats why the politicians force an overlap on the budgeting payouts .
This way you can retain some control over the next leader who is elected .
Get real if the income tax does not pay then your property tax will . No such thing except to change how government operates period .
