your neighbor/landlady had a habit of bitching at you and had the nerve to insult your dog, your cat, and your mom? I quote, this one thing she said about my dog because she was barking for 3 minutes, yes it was only 3 minutes, " I'm serious, I wanted to shoot your dog." About my cat (because my cat isn't friendly towards her), "What kind of cat acts like that?" About my mom, because she accidently didn't shut the backyard gate all the way, "Your mother needs to srew her head on, really!" I am so sick of this ***** b!tching about my pets and mom to me. She is my landlady so I can't really go off on her. Any advice? What should I do/say to her because she is getting downright abusive.

First of all, I would suggest moving, but IF you can't.....
get a notebook. Everytime she says something like that
write it down.....with the date and time. Then you can
go to the police with this documentation and ask them what
you can do.

I had a similar situation and I went to the police. They told me to do the journal........make sure you write the date and time (otherwise, its not valid).......and they accept that as proof.

Good luck

Well, think about this with a level head. She is your landlord and the requests she is making make sense. A barking dog, for anything over 30 seconds, is very annoying. The cat...well, I don't know about that one. Your mom leaving the gate open, your mom is at fault and needs to realize that it's important to close the gate. Your landlady is not tactful, to be sure, and does seem to make her requests with a lot of negativity and almost in a hurtful way, but she does make sense. Maybe you could just say, "Mrs. Smith, I am sorry my mother left the gate open and I will tell her to make sure she closes it securely from now on. Do you think you could just relate these problems to me in a calm way?"

Well, you probably could send her an e-mail or something. I don't know maybe try becoming "friends" She definately shouldn't be talking about your mom. When she says that stuff just say to her sorry but I can't realy control when my dog barks and I don't think it was for long enough that you should get all upset. Personally if she wasn't my landlady I'd flip out on her but...since she is I'm not to sure... Good luck!!
And yes I would be angry! =)

If moving isn't an option, then write her a letter, keep it friendly and keep a copy of it for yourself. Let her know that you will do your part in controlling the issues she has a problem with, but that you are tired of her verbal abuse towards you, your family and pets and that you would appreciate she stay away from you and you will give her the same courtesy except to drop off the rent. If this were to progress into further action, (her abusiveness and were something to happen to one of your pets) then you are covering yourself with copies of everything you have done to handle the situation. Also try to have someone else around during one of these episodes for a witness if in case something were to happen later down the road.

I have been in a similar situation.

NickyNawlins and trishymwl are right. i'd show your mom what they said to do. esp about notifying the police and keeping a notebook.(you can never be too careful)

She is a cowardly woman to take her adult issues to a child instead of another adult.
What does she expect You to do about it? Be the GoBetween , so she doesn't have to face a growed up? Cowardly.
really .
Let your mother handle it.
...but,Tell her gently so she doesn't get herself in trouble , kicking that woman's butt in.

and maybe if the woman keeps coming over to you, like that ,she could be charged with harrassing a minor,or something.
if she does keep coming over .tell her , "You should be discussing that with my Mom" and just keep walking.
pretend she is the papparazzi and you are A Star.
(but don't pretend you're Britney,
cus you could get arrested if you hit her. ; )

trash the place as much as humanly possible and then move out mid month. one of my favorite things to do is to pull up the carpet and hide little piles of tuna fish under it and turn the heater on full blast. you guys can stay here for a bit if you like. the more the merrier, right?

I would find another place to live first then tell her off! Then after you move out call the health department & say that they have roaches everywhere in the building/house!! lol

Id tell her to mind her own buisness. but dont make it sound too harsh. Your cat and dog and mom can do whatever they want to.. she cannot tell u to change those things. those are things that you cant controll!! tell her that and then if she keeps b!tchin at u aboutb them... then maybe i understand u cant really get up in her face... but if it keeps going on, u might have to. I hope it helps!!
