My hibiscus leaves have little tiny white spots all over them, and some of them have black crud of some type on them, too. There are no white spots underneathe the leaves, which would seem to rule out aphids. Any clues, anybody? Thanks!

powdery mildew, Maybe?

May be powdery mildew: new growth is distorted, and foliage is covered w/ white powdery substance. If that is it spray with a lime-sulfer fungicide at 10 - 14 day intervals. Or it maybe Euonymus scale: Leaves turn yellow, and tiny, elongated white bumps appear along stems and leaves. Small, round, brown bumps also appear. The plant becomes stunted and looses its leaves. Cut severely infected parts, spray with insecticide (try a insecticide soap, its not as harsh)
