take the thermostat out but keep it as u need it in the winter so the heater will work check to see if the fan is workin when it gets hot u could run power to the fan full time through a switch in the car and turn it on all the time when u drive the car

My car had the same problem it kept over heating on me. We tried everything changed the thermostat and checked all the hoses and then we found out that one of the fans in my car wasn't kicking on when it was supposed to so we checked the fuse and changed it and that solved everything and now my car hasn't over heated since so you might want to let your car run for a few minutes and then check to see if your fans kick on if one of them doesn't then this may be your problem. Good Luck!

There is a number of things that could be causing it to overheat ?, The fans are not working properly, the engine is running too rich and that can cause overheating, and even if your low on oil or its old and worn that can make things get hotter as a good motor oil can help keep temperatures down as friction of course causes heat and the less friction the less heat it will generate !!.

check out all these things !!.

Good Luck :-)

Maybe an air lock, try removing thermostat all together
to see if air lock dissipates whilst running engine. If you have a fan belt that operates the the water pump ? make sure the belt is not slipping.

Replace the thermostat. If it is stuck in the closed or partially open position, or does not open at the right temperature, water will not circulate to the radiator for cooling.

Hi

This could be a weak water pump or a blockage. Have the cooling system pressure tested and see what it shows up.

Best regards

If you have electric fans then have the fan relay replaced. Or the fan motor could be shot.

It's probably the electric fan relay.Does the fan work? If the transmission isn't functioning properly it will raise your temp. also.
