In 1920 the AL livened up the ball to make it easier to hit homeruns, the NL followed suit in 1921, nobody had hit even 30 HR's a year, and was nowhere near 500hrs let alone 700. An asterisk would denote this in the record book and is only fitting, should one be placed; or should we all just accept that the game, society changed, and thats what is meant by records are supposed to be broken. Just because all these modern (post 1920 players) had an unfair advantage over poor Roger Connor doesn't mean they are better than him, it just means the game has changed. So whaddya say? Stand up for good 'ol Rog' and get him his record back?
