In 1920 the AL livened up the ball to make it easier to hit homeruns, the NL followed suit in 1921, nobody had hit even 30 HR's a year, and was nowhere near 500hrs let alone 700. An asterisk would denote this in the record book and is only fitting, should one be placed; or should we all just accept that the game, society changed, and thats what is meant by records are supposed to be broken. Just because all these modern (post 1920 players) had an unfair advantage over poor Roger Connor doesn't mean they are better than him, it just means the game has changed. So whaddya say? Stand up for good 'ol Rog' and get him his record back?

Thank you for actually managing to use the word asterisk in a baseball question and yet somehow do it in an intelligent and humorous way. True fans of baseball are smart enough to know that the game has changed, and don't need asterisks placed next to any records. For the people who want asterisks - maybe they should just take some time to learn a little bit about the history of the game, so that they can draw there own conclusions as to what truly great accomplishments are.

counting on how lots media interest this could get it could have an * via their wins. particularly if proved they could eliminate those titles. they have taken away college titles for violations. they have taken away Gold medals in the Olympics for violations. it is going to be no distinction for the NFL. maximum in all probability that's going to be an unofficial asterisk via their call in the minds of the followers and media. particular they have been fined, yet no longer heavily. They have been fined for one 365 days. they have been doing this for countless years. so a techniques as how many different communities have finished this; the Patriots have been caught. i'm optimistic extra people than Chris Webber or Reggie Bush has taken money jointly as in college, yet they have been uncovered! Michigan grew to become into stripped of its championship. They lost some scholorships and that they have got been snctioned. If the penalty is harsh adequate extra people will think of two times approximately dishonest. college scholars that are broke and their relatives that are broke will nonetheless be objectives like the Bush relatives, yet they could fasten up the decide directly to be agent who admitted given them the money. Impose fines and or penitentiary time for different keen adults who knowingly participated.

Should we put an asterisk next to Roger Connor's record because he never had to face black or latin players?

Just a thought. Have a good day

Since Connor is currently tied for 450th all-time, probably not. Even rolling in black numbers, MLB probably cannot afford THAT MANY asterisks, even buying them second-hand off eBay.
