Not if you follow these simple instructions.
First, really relax. The more comfortable you are the easier to get in you.
Next, your partner needs to really takes his time. He should gently uses his fingers, one first then more, to lube you well. Then when he penetrates you he should go slowly until his head is past your sphincter. After that, hold what he's got to allow your body to relax again. Then have at.
After the first time or two, it will get easier and easier and you'll need less time to get from taking off your pants to yelling "Oh, God. YES".
Trust me, done right, it's great.

Depends on whether you were a top or btm.
First time for me I was topping. No pain, just pleasure. A few mos later I bottomed for the first time. A little pain and a LOT of pressure -- that wasn't really painful, just a feeling of pressure 'down there'. My 1st boyfriend was well endowed.
But after a few months all the pain was gone and there was just pleasure.

If, by chance you're referring to the receiving end of male/male penetration as I suspect:
It sure did. It hurt a lot. I soon learned to relax, to be very aroused, and to use plenty of lubricant. That's when I found out how mind-blowing amazing it is. "Pleasure" doesn't begin to describe it.

Oft times if the couple isn't being careful or taking it slow pain can result. So just taking it easy can more often then not ensure a painless pleasureful sex.
