Hello Corndog:
Are you looking for a business that would be the charter partner, or just a business that would provide a little financial support?
If you are looking for a business to sponsor the troop, the BSA prefers that the troop be chartered to a civic group, or religous institution. In some instances, the troop can be chartered to a group formed by the parents of the troop members.
You might try some of the civic groups in your area, such as the Optimists, Rotary, Lions, VFW, American Legion, or local churches, temples, or other religous houses.
Once you have the troop established, you can contact local businesses and ask for a small financial donation, many businesses will give to the local community, but to ask one to sponsor a troop is a large undertaking.
Are you coordinating this troop founding with your District Executive? S/he is very experienced with this and will be very eager to help you.
Keep on Scoutin'
