I do not. I vote 3rd party - or "I write it in"

No, I can't do it, I even tried, but physically, my hand could not perform the act.

I wouldn't support a candidate who was against gay rights. I would do the same as you: write in or go 3rd party.

But I do understand the gay-supportive people who feel like voting your conscience is a luxury they can't afford. Sometimes one anti-gay candidate is obviously less a Nazi than the other, and I understand how by voting your principles, you might be making it easier for the bigger Nazi to win.

So I see both sides to that dilemma.

I love your questions Mac. :)

Generally, I would say no, I would not. But I will qualify that just a little: It depends on which rights. Example: If a candidate does not support hiring/housing protection, he will *not* get my vote. If he/she supports most of the civil rights legislation, but say, has a problem with marriage - and supports some alternative to it, then I *might*.

Luckily, it's becoming more trendy to be for us than against us. I hope that continues.

None of the candidates in either major party truly support gay equality.

I'll hold my nose and vote for whatever spineless crud the Democrats run.

Why would I support someone who is not going to represent me correctly? I guess it's the "lesser of the two evils?" I agree with you that I either vote 3rd party or write in.

I am not a one issue voter. however those who say they are against gay rights are usually against most issues i support. There are enough candidates PRETENDING to support gay right to give good alternatives. I say pretend because I have had enough involvement with politics to know they don't give a hoot about our rights, but only our votes.

I'm voting for Obama. I liked his answer to the issue. He'll offer civil unions that allow all the rights of a marriage. I liked this idea because marraige is a religous institution. The state can't force the church to recognize same-sex marraige if it doesn't want to.

Let's face it, when it comes to the issue of gay marraige, we shouldn't be concerned with the name placed on it, or the place it happens. We want equal rights. Those rights would be afforded with Obama's civil unions, minus the title "marriage." It's a winner to me.

Nope. I suppose technically I'm a republican, but I would never support a candidate who is against gay rights. Wow... that puts me in a weird spot, huh?

Nope.

I support whichever candidate I can find that doesn't seem to have their head up their own ***.

...that's probably why I've never voted.

Well, to be honest, I must look at their entire platform.

But people who do not work for equal rights for all, start out WAY down on the list.

for me its like picking the lesser of two evils.
are either one really who we need running our country continuing to put our country in the poor house?
do they honestly respect any-ones rights or just their right to get rich and be a part of history?
