Tom Glavine - baseball trivia, stats - is this possible? I heard this astonishing stat, can it be true? Tom Glavine has been behind 3 balls to no strikes only 18 times in his entire career. Can this be true? Please confirm.

It would be amazing if it was true, but it's not. Glavine has been behind 3-0 on 439 occasions according to his splits page:

If you were a Mets fan and watched Glavine a lot, you would realize that this cannot be true. Glavine is behind on almost every hitter he faces, it is said to be part of his "plan." It's very irritating, but if it works nobody can argue. He doesn't have the stuff to simple shoot in a strike.

That sounds really far fetched to me he's been pitching for too long for that stat to only be 18

Where did you see/hear that? i have no idea or where to check. But thats a CRAZY stat. just a fantastic pitcher. with unthinkable control

this would have to not count intentional walk counts, but i dont believe this unless you have a good source.
