I'd call an excavation company ~ they'll have the equipment to fill in the well, which sounds like what you are after.

Editted for additional comments:
I've never heard of a well collapsing once it has been completely filled in with gravel, rocks, cement, and whatever else they use. Did your inspector tell you WHY he thought yours might cave in? Was it only filled with loosely packed dirt?

The only other place I would suggest to call is a company that specializes in well digging ~ they should be listed in the yellow pages under Well Digging and Services. I'm just sure they'd be able to answer your questions.

If the well has been filled in before, why would it cave in? I think you need an opinion from another inspector or a contractor.

If you live inside the city limits, call the Inspection Department at City Hall.
