Yes, the current government is protecting us from terrorism.. well.. not completely, but more than before.

What is more important? Honestly, in my opinion, wealth... and I'd give up some protection and/or some freedoms to obtain it.

Call me anti American (I love this country), but there are a lot of idiots out there that don't deserve rights/freedoms. They should impose an IQ test before allowing them to push their beliefs on others.

I believe that freedom is the glue that holds the country together, however; there should be a middle ground between these two options. A country with total security will be a police state not worth saving, while a country with total freedom will not be able to withstand attacks. It can be said that we can never be totally safe from terrorism. When one person decides to trade his/her life for another it is difficult to stop, but we may be able to keep the materials necessary for destruction from them.

It's impossible for the government to guarantee safety 100%. As our defensive measures improve and we aren't attacked, our guard will lower, leaving somebody to take advantage of us again.

Remember, the only flaw with safety and security, is that you don't know it's working until it fails.

Freedom is the only important thing. Too bad few agree with me anymore.

it should be "Is the govt...." and I think the answer is yes. Nothing they have done for security has affected my life in any way. Has it affected yours? I doubt it.
