Depends on where you're from. I've always called it soda (in Texas). There are others in Texas that call it Coke no matter what brand it is. Such as, "Give me a Coke. What kind? A Dr. Pepper." I've got friends that defected to the north and now call it pop.

Uh its definitely called SODA. Pop doesnt even sound right. I live in Jersey, and up here you would never hear someone say pop.

We call it Soda here in Texas, but when I go back home (which is Kansas) they call it Pop. I don't know why it's just always been that way.

Pop theres a statistic written some place on the internet and has it divided by state and what they call it. I grew up in Denver and we call it Pop, where I was born in California they called it Soda, so it depends on where you are from.

It depends on where you live. I'm from the midwest and we always called it pop. But when I moved to the east coast everyone thought I was crazy! I think the real word is sodapop and people just choose to shorten it differently.

I call it soda but most people in my area (GA) say Coke making it very frustrating for those of us who actually mean Coke (and hate Pepsi) at restaurants.
