a lot of players get drafted and don't play a single minute
especially QBs
even the good ones. which Shockley doesn't appear to be...but even if he was....it would have been very likely that he sat the first year (or couple/few) to learn under an established vet

Shockley was 3rd behind Vick and Schaub. Matt Schaub would have been a starter on most NFL teams last year. Schockley was a decent QB at UGA, but this is the NFL and if he's good enough, he will get his chance. Maybe with Vick being out this year and possibly forever, he might get his chance to shine! I mean, how hard could it possibly be to beat out Joey Harrington for the 1st string job??? If Dunn gets healthy from his shoulder surgery, he might even get a chance at QB this year..... :)

I think that if the Falcons are not in the playoff hunt, then they should let Shockley start a few games. Who knows, he could be good.

the falcons off. was built for Vick, no doubt. well, since vick ain't going to play this year, and all those pieces in place, they are giving joe h. a shot, but rest asurred that DJ will be getting all the snaps come opening day.

because they had schaub as the 2# option so hes 3rd string and 3rd strings don't get alot of playing time
lol looks like hes gonna be fighting for the #1 starter since Vick is in trouble

Cuz he is third string. But this year he might be second string cuz schuab is gone and Vick will be too and harrington'll move up to first. If joey harrington does bad then he will paly more.

cuz hes not that good. and he got taken in the way later rounds, like 6th or 7th? in the NFL teams still like the white quick witted QB with an accurate arm that can take them down the field. micheal vick was just too talented to not be starting. but im sure they like the insurance they had in matt shuab until they traded him

because he was never that good at UGA in the first place. he probably should have considered a switch in position to wide reciever and since atlanta is lacking decent recievers he may have stepped on the field.
