I like the name, but not the spelling. When I named my children, I tried to keep the spellings simple and common. It makes it easier through life. I have enough headache spelling my last name for people...adding the first name to spell is worse.

Not my favorite. I think Alec is okay, but why on earth would you spell it Aleyk?

It's interesting, but more than likely everyone will pronounce it wrong. Also, when he is an adult, it will be difficult to do business over the phone because he will have to spell it, and sometimes people will still mispell the name.

For a smart Aleyk it would be fine, otherwise it stinks..

And if you really insist on spelling it that way, the poor boy is going to have to correct people every day of his life. Also, studies have been done that show that people who have their names spelled oddly are perceived as less intelligent. Is that what you want for your son?

just the whole "why is the Y there?" sorta thing.
like when i saw it i knew it would be pronouced as alek but if i was to spell it correctly without knowing it had a Y i would be like "um...do you spell your name with a C or a K?" instead of asking if it had a Y.
but other than that, its a pretty neat way of making the name uniquely awsome

Really hard to spell. I get annoyed when I have to spell my name each time I call customer service somewhere. Find something that is easier to spell and pronounce.

I think it would be better if you just took the y out. Its unique and all but theres no point in putting it there, his name will jsut be mis pronounced.

Alek is much better.
