IF god created the universe ( and yes it is possible that god AND gas clouds created the universe simultaneously) the existence of the other planets would be purposive. The would moreover be metaphysically necessary. I my opinion they other planets including the moon provide opportunities for improvement of earth. They also are aesthetically pleasing, seeing a beautiful full moon or the redish-orange of Mars on a clear night is worthy as end onto itself and requires no qualification for its intrinsic worth.

The solar system was not created by God. This was created when the gas cloud left over from a giant super nova explosion started to collapse in on itself and spin. About 4.55 billion years ago there was just a vast, hot cloud of gas circling a new star, our Sun.
Let me add additional details to convince you further. The earth probably begun when tiny pieces of space debris began to clump together, pulled together by each other's gravity.
Every planet in the solar System has a moon, apart from Mercury and Venus, the nearest planet to the Sun. New moons are frequently discovered, as space probes such as the Voyagers reach distant planets. The largest moon in the Solar System is Jupiter's moon Ganymede.
Moons are the natural satellites of planets. Most are small rock globes that continually orbit the parent planet, held in place by the planet's gravity.
Whoa! there are 65 known moons in the Solar System.
Hope i clarified things one way or the other. Thanks.

Yeah... um, yeah... What about the Universe? Who or what created God? If God, did in fact create all this, then why wait until just 2000 years ago to have a kid?
We, the planet earth, don't need the moon. Scientists believe that a large asteroid hit Earth and a chunk came off, and that is now our moon... Jupiter is a gas giant, so what I understand is that there is not an actual surface, but it's moons were other rocks floating by that got sucked into it's gravitational pull, which it has...
God was created by man, in my opinion. I, personally, find it hard to believe in a greater power other than myself. Not saying, that I'm a God... But, scientifically, God cannot be proven... That's why it's called faith. You just have to believe... Works for some people, not so much for others...

God was created by savages, witch doctors and brutal killers. God didn't do anything.
One way to understand the complexity of universe is captured in an anthropic view I heard Bucky Fuller tell.
A redwood tree, over the course of its normal life span will produce hundreds of billions of seeds. The conditions for germination are so so specific and the window of opportunity so narrow that few ever sprout. Of those that do sprout, conditions for survival are narrowly specific. Out of hundreds of billions of seeds perhaps two seeds will develop into trees.
And that is why there are so many unique situations developing in space. When the specific necessities for generation of life occur, life is generated.
When life dies with the death of our Sun, perhaps some other place will have developed just the right conditions and life will begin again. And perhaps not. Probably not.

Just to keep the balance, because the moon has its importance in balancing certain things on Earth such the ocean ( low tide and high tide ) and ripening fruits and others.
Beside, Hindus believe that Saturn represents Shunny devta.
When someone does any action good or bad, it is Shunny devta ( demi god ) who gives back the reaction. Like Newton's third law of motion: Every action has an opposite and equal reaction.
It is good to know that action is not only with hands but also in thinking and what you say with your mouth.
Now don't be excessively virtuous because it's a greater sin.
Only be good. And about the other planets may be they have their respective importance.

This is indeed an excellent question! It indicates you are a "seeker" --one who searches for truth. And now the answer. The Universe is in reality, one gigantic living organism. It, and all of it's components, the planets, moons, galaxies and suns, are part of the internals of this living object which we call the Universe. There are uncounted trillions of galaxies in the universe. Just as there are uncounted trillions of cells, of every imaginable type, existing together within your own body. All those cells work together to support your body, just as all those spacial objects work together to support the fundamental structure of the "body of the universe." They are like the cells in your body, those suns and moons and planets, as they are part of the larger whole. Jupiter presides over it's moons and they are under her sole control, just as cells of your body, tho there are trillions, are under the control of your body as a whole. Seek and ye shall find.

Your question is totally meaningless. Why should an ant, could an ant understand why humans do various things. Why should it care?
If you chose to build a sixty room mansion, but only provided your dog with one fine dog-house, it might wonder too and think, "why did my master build such a big house, when all I need is this dog-house and my daily walk, plus my food?"
Aren't you being filled with pride if you think everything has to turn about the ants on this little planet? If God's name's honor was not connected to the issues affecting humanity, he probably would as well erase us all.
It is as Jesus stated, the entire universe would rather be destroyed than even one letter of what God has promised come to nothing.

He gave us the other stars and planets to light the night. he added the other planets for missile deflectors for cosmic projectiles. the moon in particular, has saved us millions of impacts from meteors etc.
i am sure the gravitational pull of those planets also help hold earth in it precise orbit that allows us to live here. look at mars, it is essentially next door to us cosmically speaking, yet there is no way life as we know it could live there now. Why not?

One theological liniage of thinking in Christianity is that we make up the body of Christ. So, all people before us who believe in Christ, all people who currently believe, and all future people make up Jesus Christ.
Dr. Suess' "Horton hears a Who's" tells a story of an Elephant who hears a small piece of dust talking to him. Turns out this dust contains a civilization similar to Earth.
Geometrically speaking we can create patterns inward to infinity, and outward to infinity. This is called fractals, and PBS did a special called "The Colors of Infinity" ... which also reveals mathamatically how God can allow "Free Will" & " Desitiny" at the same time.

The question of no remember if God created existence on different planets is nicely beautiful. Psalm 19:a million says that "the heavens declare the distinction of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork." each and every thing that God has made, be it you and me, or flowers and fauna, or angels, or stars and planets, have been created for His glory. as quickly as we see a brilliant ranging view of the Milky way or peer at Saturn by way of a telescope, i'm surprised on the wonders of God! David wrote in Psalm 8:3, "as quickly as I evaluate Your heavens, the paintings of Your arms, the moon and the celebrities, which you have ordained." as quickly as we see the super style of stars, then study that scientists have stumbled on hundreds upon hundreds of galaxies, each and each containing thousands and thousands of stars, we could constantly be stand in reverent worry of a God so super to make all that and get in touch with it the paintings of His arms! in addition to, Psalm 147:4 tells us that "He counts the style of the celebrities, He calls all of them via call." it is impossible for mankind to be conscious of what proportion stars there are, to no longer point out the “call” of each and every famous person! "certainly My hand has laid the initiating of the earth, And My proper hand has stretched out the heavens; as quickly as I call to them, They get up collectively" (Isaiah 40 8:13). area and planets have been created for God's glory. despite if all of us be conscious of the celebrities exist, the life of planets outdoors our image voltaic equipment remains somewhat hypothetical, some "discoveries" have grew to become out to be misguided and many are unverified, yet while there are planets previous our image voltaic equipment, then those too have been created for the distinction of God. A continuously increasing universe is yet yet another conjecture that has yet to be shown. the subsequent famous person farther than the solar is over 4 gentle-years away and that's no longer even a measurable fraction of the scale of the extensive-unfold universe, increasing or no longer. to no remember if there is existence on different planets, we merely don't be conscious of. so some distance, no information of existence on the different planets of our image voltaic equipment has been stumbled on. pondering the nearness of the tip circumstances, it is not going that guy will progression some distance sufficient to circulate to different galaxies before the Lord’s return. everywhere existence exists or doesn’t exist, God remains the author and controller of all issues and all issues have been made for His glory. God Bless o/
